Sri Ganga Rural Development Society

We empower women through skill development programs, stabilizing their socio-economic condition and providing them a chance for a better future.

In 2007, the Sri Ganga Rural Development Society was founded in the Bellary district of Karnataka as a non-profit organization. We provide women with training in digital literacy and skill development. This training offers them opportunities for a better future. Our programs focus on livelihood generation and gender justice. Through these initiatives, we empower women in the community. Ultimately, our efforts aim to create a more equitable and prosperous society for all.

Our Programs

Livelihood Enhancement Initiatives

We provide socio-economic empowerment to rural women through SHGs and livelihood enhancement/micro-entrepreneurship initiatives. It builds their confidence and self-belief for enriching their future.

Tailoring Program

We provide girls and women with cutting and tailoring skills to supplement family income, which helps them earn a living and improve their quality of life. Post-training sessions, we provided hand-holding support to help the beneficiaries open their own tailoring shop, individually or collectively.

President Honored with Karnataka Mahila Ratna Award

Our NGO president received the Karnataka Mahila Ratna award from the Mysore Durga Foundation on March 11th. This honor recognizes her outstanding contributions to women's empowerment.

Women's Day Celebration

We celebrated Women's Day in Bellary on March 8, 2023. The day was filled with joy and excitement. We also arranged dance and cultural programs. Everyone enjoyed the performances and had a great time.

Celebrating Swami Vivekananda Jayanti with Children in Bellary

Children in Bellary celebrated Swami Vivekananda Jayanti on January 12th with joy. Our NGO organized the event to teach them about compassion, unity, and education. The kids engaged in storytelling, singing, and art to learn about Vivekananda. Their smiles showed hope for the future. The celebration honored Vivekananda's legacy and brought the community together.

Instructor Training Workshop

We conducted a basic literacy implementation program for slum areas and illiterates in Bellary. This program aims to promote literacy among slum people. Book kits were distributed to the teachers at the end of the workshop.

Toys Making Training for Rural Women

We have trained around 55 women to make soft toys The objective of this training is to empower these 55 women economically and learn new skills to improve their standard of living. The NGO volunteers provided hands-on training to the women to help them learn the art of making toys easily. The women were trained step by step through step by step training and told to practice in Bellary.
